OUR STORY

We are a food start-up spanning across Singapore, London, and Amsterdam that is on a mission to feed the world responsibly, through tasty, nutritious, and affordable foods.

Agua Foods is founded by Zubin Chand. As a young child, Zubin travelled extensively through India and the African Subcontinent with his father on business. These travels to underdeveloped and impoverished regions within various countries, allowed him to see the overpressure on food systems and traumatic impact of malnutrition.

After finishing college, he took the opportunity to work in the Indian healthcare system with a focus on disruptive innovation. He soon discovered that in order to alleviate the world of malnutrition, there was a need to create sustainable, affordable, and nutritious food solutions.

As he gained awareness on the large footprint of human animal consumption, and his wife Natasha being allergic to seafood, his interest was sparked to explore the opportunity for plant based alternatives.

In collaboration with the government of Singapore, a Food Tech champion that invests in building solid ecosystems for sustainable food innovation, Zubin agreed on co-developing plant based seafood processes with a different, simpler process than any competitor currently doing. This led in 2021 to the founding of Agua Foods, with a mission to feed the world responsibly.
